Craigston Steading conversion plans approved
Planning permission has been granted to restore and upgrade the listed 18th century Craigston Steading (stable) complex. Using some of the latest eco-techniques (recycling grey water, chip-boiler heating system, double and triple glazing etc) the buildings will be returned to use as 5 * holiday apartments and a multi-purpose area, with professional kitchen, for hosting courses including cooking and art workshops.
Funding for this restoration includes a grant from Historic Scotland and permission for an “enabling development” on the edge of Craigston Estate.
Long term plans include developing a small ruin into a village Inn with restaurant, a few rooms and sauna and also a few eco-lodges in the woods.
